The Prayer Challenge
Covenant together to pray with each other at least five minutes everyday for 40 days. A revived marriage begins here. It's short but oh so sweet. If praying together with your spouse is new, you might want to use the ACTS method to get started. Be sure to include ADORATION to God, CONFESSION of faults--especially the ones impacting your marriage most directly, THANKSGIVING for your mate and all that is a blessing in your relationship, and SUPPLICATION--pray for each other's needs, concerns, and requests. More prayer ideas for the 40 days can be found here.
The "Passion Pledge" Challenge
The 15-Second-A-Day Kissing Challenge
This is as straightforward, and luscious as it sounds. The challenge is simply to just say NO to hurried peck kisses for the next 40 days, and say YES to a minimum 15-second kiss with your beloved at least once daily. Don't overthink this one. And don't go legalistic and set a timer. Just do it...and enjoy.
The weekly Date Night Challenge
Covenant together for at least one night out each week during the 40-day Marriage Revival. Choose a night that works for both of you. Arrange a babysitter if you can. If not, don't let children keep you from this part of the pledge. Take them with you, but do something fun as a family. Date Night does not always mean spending money. The focus is spending TIME. Date night can be as simple as turning off the TV and playing a game together. Whatever you decide to do, just make time to do it together. That's the point. No one said it would be easy, right? That's why it's called a "challenge." There are tons of date night ideas on the web. Just search for Christian date night ideas and you'll have plenty to keep you busy...and happy.

The "Passion Pledge" Challenge
- You may be familiar with the "Love Dare" book which asks you to do something nice for your spouse for 40 days. The Passion Pledge is similar. Look for ways to bless your spouse over the next 40 days. (i.e., send a love note with your spouse everyday, or text one; fix their favorite treat; vacuum their car; etc. More ideas can be found here.)
- The second part of the pledge is to read and pray through select scriptures--one a day for the next 40 days. Ask God to show you how the verse of the day applies to your marriage and record any thoughts in a journal or on your smartphone. Then, when you and your spouse come together for your prayer time, first share your thoughts from the scripture reading. These thoughts will also help you know what to pray about. Find Passion Pledge scriptures here.
